What inspired us to pursue the project into the noise from data centers was due to the fact that data centers have been making a huge impact in urban cities and other areas where they cause many people issues with their daily lives.
Urban Acoustic's purpose is to show the range of the volume that the data centers emit when they are on and shows the amount of people that get impacted by that noise and we implemented a way where the user would be able to integrate a concrete or a eco friend wall around the area where they click that allows them to see how many people get saved from the noise and how that it can help impact peoples lives.
The program got built with the prompts that were asked by the developer and also with the help of Figma when it came to generating the way the website would look and how we envisioned it to look like. Mainly when it came to creating a rough draft of the website and being able to see how to implement it with the code.
Some challenges that we ran into when it came to creating the project was the fact that we had originally a team of 4 that became a team of 2 only about 3-7 hours into the hackathon and neither of us had knowledge on how to create a website or how to design a website. I for one did not know how to create the layout of the website and how to implement with the code. For my teammate it was hard for them to code the way the program would run and mainly used prompts to help create the program and being able to become what they envisioned.
We were very proud to see that the program was able to run not fully though if you try and leave the location that it starts at you would not be able to generate other data centers but I was proud of being able to implement the code with the website layout and being able to see how the website fully came out and was able to work.
I learned how to be able to use Figma to create the layout I envisioned and also with being able to ask Figma make for help in being able to connect both the website and the code to be able to become one and how it would look like. For my teammate it was being able to use prompts to help with generating the code and being able to see how the code would run when they generate the website from their end.
The plan for Urban Acoustic after this would be able to enhance the sensor data for future data centers so that when they plan to create noise suppressions around the data centers that they would be able to see how many people were able to be helped by it and how it would help the community more when it gets finished.
