Inspiration
We were inspired to create this because we know the stress and uncertainty that comes with enrolling in classes. We wanted to give the UMass community a hand with URateMyClass.
What it does
The app allows users to browse reviews for UMass CS courses made by other UMass students. The app also allows the user him/herself to write a review for a class.
How we built it
For front end, we used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. For back end, we used Django.
Challenges we ran into
A front end challenge we encountered was simply relearning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. A backend challenge was learning how to set up the database for reviews.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We made the design of the website fairly aesthetic. We used Django to allow reviews/ratings for classes made by users to be saved to the site.
What we learned
We learned the importance of the combination of both a front and back end team. We also relearned languages and frameworks such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Django.
What's next for URateMyClass
Before 11AM tommorow, we hope to be able to merge the frontend and backend in working harmony.
