We created Upshift Career AI to bridge the gap between classroom education and industry expectations, helping students turn their ambitions into achievable career goals.

What it does

Upshift Career AI is an AI-powered career guidance platform designed to help students become industry-ready. It helps users explore career paths, identify skill gaps, generate personalized learning roadmaps, track their progress, and prepare for internships and job opportunities. Our goal is to make career planning more accessible, structured, and personalized.

How we built it

We designed Upshift Career AI around a simple idea: every student deserves a clear roadmap to their dream career. The platform combines a user-friendly web interface with AI-powered recommendations to provide personalized guidance based on a student's interests, current skills, and career goals. Our approach focuses on turning career advice into actionable steps that students can follow and track.

Challenges we ran into

One of our biggest challenges was figuring out how to make career recommendations genuinely useful rather than generic. We also had to consider the different skill levels, educational backgrounds, and goals of students. Designing a simple user experience while planning meaningful AI-driven personalization pushed us to think carefully about both functionality and accessibility.

What we learned
