Inspiration
In today's digital era, screens have transformed into the ultimate playground. Whether you're spending countless regretful hours chasing a rank in Valorant or playing as Steve on Minecraft, it's easy to get caught up in the fun and forget the most important thing, our health.
Our solution? The intersection of community, facilitating physical/mental health, and fun! With upLift, the joy of building up your digital character goes hand in hand with leveling up yourself and uplifting others.
What it does
upLift provides a fun environment where users and their friends can strive towards being better than they were yesterday. Users can level up their in-game characters by completing their set workouts. They can also join clans with friends, fostering a sense of community and mutual motivation. Together, users can level up and compete against other clans on a shared journey of self-improvement.
How we built it
Our app was built upon the Next.js framework and uses Pocketbase and Flask for the backend and database.
The Journey and Challenges
This hackathon was the first time we all worked on a proper, complete, full-stack project, so everything was out for discovery. We had the opportunity to learn about the Next.Js framework, connecting the front end to the back end and managing a fully functional SQLite database.
From pulling two all-nighters collaborating and coding at uni, we are all so glad we were able to turn our ideas into reality in the end.
