Inspiration

As we were trying to think of a website idea that could help everyone (especially in light of the pandemic), we realized that one of the biggest challenges we faced during the pandemic was mental health. All of the change, the deaths, the danger caused so much stress to not just the front-line workers, but everyday people.

What it does

We created a website that assists in taking care of the user’s mental health. Using html, css, and js, we coded a website to function as a stress-reliever.

How we built it

First, we created a rough outline of our website using google slides. We then researched all of the information (articles, images, videos) we needed for our website. Last but not least, we used html, css, and javascript to actually build it.

Challenges we ran into

Our main challenges were coding errors (we're all relatively new to js, html, and css) and a time constraint; however, we managed to overcome these challenges by splitting up the work based on each of our strengths, helping each other out when we got stuck, and a lot of googling!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Honestly, we're just super proud that we got the website up and running in less than 24 hours, considering our experience levels. Just the fact we were able to communicate and collaborate so well with people we didn't even know two days ago to create a fully functional website is pretty amazing (at least in our opinion).

What we learned

We definitely learned a lot about css, html, and javascript and how they function as a whole. However, we also learned the importance of collaboration, communication, and time management.

What's next for Uphealth

For the to-do list feature, we want to add a chrome extension so, even if the person is not on the website at all times, they can still get reminders to take a screen time break or go out for a walk.
