Inspiration

We were inspired by how town boards used to function in the days before the internet, allowing residents of an area to know what activities were happening around them.

What it does

This project allows anyone to organize a local activity and get to know the people in their town, especially people who might be similar to themselves. This lets people such as new immigrants make connections in their new country of residence and find possible opportunities.

How we built it

We built this website using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in Replit.

Challenges we ran into

We had difficulty learning how to use HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as none of us had ever used them before. This made it difficult for us to complete our project efficiently because most of our time was spent learning what we didn't know.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of how much we learned in these few hours, as we went from knowing nothing to making a functioning website. This will be a valuable skill to have learned for the future, even though this project isn't perfect in the end.

What we learned

We learned everything we know about building a website in just the time it took us to make it, and we learned how difficult it actually is to make one.

What's next for Upcoming Events Board

Next, we'd hope to integrate it with Google Cloud's Sheets API, or some other form submission software, so that the events don't need to be manually inputed.
