Inspiration
I have always had issues with navigating through adult hood. Nobody gives specific advices, there's no manuscript or guide of any kind. Things get overwhelming most times and I just thought, if I am feeling this, other young adults might also be feeling the same way. So, I built Up-Hood to simplify day to day activities, structure plans clearly and also, motivate young adults globally.
What it does
Up-Hood helps young adults organize their life by turning everyday needs like money, study, career, and personal growth into clear tasks, planners, and a simple dashboard. It guides users on what to do next, helps them stay consistent, and shows their progress in one place.
How we built it
We built Up-Hood on MeDo as an “adulting operating system” that turns real-life needs (money, study, career, growth) into structured tasks, planners, and a clear dashboard. The focus was flow and simplicity, not just task listing
Challenges we ran into
One major challenge was avoiding the trap of building “just another to-do list app.” We had to rethink how tasks relate to real-life problems young adults face daily. Another challenge was structuring the app in a way that feels simple but still powerful. Deciding how sectors, needs, tasks, and planners connect required multiple iterations. Design was also a challenge creating an interface that feels motivating rather than overwhelming, while working within time and tool constraints.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Up-Hood feels like a life companion, not a productivity app. We translated everyday confusion into a guided system that gives users clarity and a sense of control immediately.
What we learned
Deeply understanding user pain leads to better features. We learned the power of structure and how to turn ideas into functional, user-friendly components with MeDo
What's next for Up-Hood
We plan to add personalized guidance, reminders, habit tracking, and adaptive planning to make Up-Hood a smarter daily assistant for young adults.
