Inspiration
As a creative writer, I often view photos and imagine what kind of story the photo could inspire. It is fun to try and predict what is in the heads of people you don't know and what their lives could possibly involve. While the goal for AI shouldn't be taking away the hobbies of the general public, using AI in this way can provide light-hearted entertainment to those who aren't interested in writing.
What it does
The AI is trained to recognize the emotions of subjects within a photo through eye shape, facial creases, mouth shape, and body language and the interactions of each subject with other subjects and the environment to generate a fictional short story about the lives of the subjects
How I built it
I used the Mistral Pixtral 12 API and trained it to recognize human behaviors using a host of subject images with descriptions as multishot model to help improve the accuracy based on psychological research.
Challenges I ran into
This is my first time using AI in a developmental context and individually implementing an AI, meaning I have very limited skill when it comes to utilizing AI. I tried to work this, but between university and volunteer work, I couldn't allocate enough time to this project, so the biggest challenge was actually time.
Accomplishments that I am proud of
I came up with a concept I want to work on as a personal project just for fun, and I learned some about how to manipulate, guide, and implement AI into projects.
What I learned
I learned about training an AI and how much human input is actually necessary to make an AI tool function correctly.
What's next for Hapily
Fully implementing the intended function and improving upon its functionality and accuracy.
