Target User: Our product is designed for people who have no previous financial education before.
Aim: This product helps to demystify the misunderstanding that investing is only for the wealthy - the basic financial products and concepts are laid out flat in front of your eyes, what the users see is what the users get.
Design Concept: By designing this educational product in the form of interactive fiction the user could quickly grasp the basic concepts in a matter of hours. Each concept is explained with a maximum of 100 words. This feature makes the app light to read- the user could use their fragmented time to quickly launch the app and read new things; it also makes the app youth-friendly. The HTML is build using Twine - an interactive fiction builder. The app is build using the editor Figma. The website is loaded based on Netlify - a hosting service provider for web applications. We also have a mobile app version built on Swift.
Vision: This product is the direct response to the challenge of improving the financial inclusion of individuals. By spending time on this product, users will be more confident reading the financially acknowledged section of the Wall Street Journal Financial Times, etc. We hope this product can also act as the stepping stone to start an individual's journey to manage one's portfolio.
So far, the contents are divided into four categories: the bond market, equity securities, stock and bond market indices, and derivative markets. Each section is aimed to provide an exhaustive list of types of products within the section; to inform the risk and benefits of this form of investment; to show some examples of how changes of values are interlinked with socio-economic changes. We plan to add more exercises in each section to make this application more interactive with its users. If time allows, we want to build more content regarding: how the products are traded; the cost of investing; interest rates; long-term investments, and many more. We also want the contents to be more mathematically involved.
