Inspiration
Originally called Theta GamePass, our hackathon project was inspired by the rise of NFTs and blockchain technology, which have created new opportunities for secure and authentic digital ownership. Seeing the need for robust authentication solutions, we set out to seamlessly integrate Unreal Engine 5 with the Theta Network, providing a secure and efficient NFT authentication system.
What it does
The UnrealEngine 5 NFT Authenticator for Theta Network verifies the authenticity and ownership of NFTs within Unreal Engine 5 environments.
How we built it
We leveraged the power of UE5 Blueprints and integrated it with the Theta Network's blockchain technology. The authentication service hosted by thetafabric.io is smart-contract agnostic, as long as it meets the TNT-721 / ERC-721 specifications. This created a secure bridge for authenticating players to Theta Network assets via a user-friendly interface for NFT authentication both on web and in-game.
Challenges we ran into
Security and time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully created a system that authenticates NFTs within Unreal Engine 5. Our solution not only enhances the security of digital assets but also provides a smooth user experience.
What we learned
Tying Unreal Engine to the Theta Network required deep understanding of both platforms. We learned about the intricacies of blockchain integration with game engines and the importance of security in digital asset management.
What's next for UnrealEngine 5 NFT Authenticator for Theta Network
We plan to develop a Leaderboard API that tracks and displays authenticated NFTs within Unreal Engine 5 environments. We are also adding a secondary layer of security, including support for WalletConnect.
