Inspiration
New students and advisors wasting time trying to find sections that fit into a schedule. It takes a long time to manually write them down, check overlapping time, compare different schedules.
What it does
Generates schedules:
1 Open the schedule generator 2 Choose your semester and optional scheduling details 3 Search the schedule for courses and schedules are automatically generated!
Course location?
Don't worry about it! Time and location are shown on a map for you. Click the map for a shortest path directly there!
How I built it
Its built with Falcon backend, Android client, S3 to track data set changes for further analytics on courses. Firebase is used to send notifications about section/semester/course changes.
Challenges I ran into
Concurrency on backend web application. Issue is maintaining responsiveness while parsing, downloading and updating schedule data. Algorithm for generating schedules and filtering sections; currently I am using a backtracking algorithm.
Accomplishments
Top 10 app in a University app contest.
