Inspiration

During my internship, I identified a significant challenge within the R&D and Warranty Departments: the absence of an effective internal system to track inventory items. This deficiency led to unnecessary costs during parts ordering. To address this, I proposed a streamlined solution that leverages the power of low-code technology to create INVIGO+ – an intuitive inventory management system.

INVIGO+ aims to simplify inventory management by providing an easy-to-use platform for tracking items. Rather than relying on complex systems that demand high technical expertise, INVIGO+ harnesses the benefits of low-code development. This solution empowers users to tailor the system to their needs without extensive coding knowledge.

What it does

Effortless Inventory Tracking: Users can effortlessly log inventory items using INVIGO+. By creating tickets for each transaction, users establish a digital trail of inventory movements.

Visual Insights: INVIGO+ integrates with Power BI, allowing users and management to access comprehensive visual overviews of the inventory. This enables informed decision-making and enhances transparency.

How we built it

INVIGO+ was constructed using the following components:

Power Apps: The user-friendly interface of Power Apps serves as the foundation for INVIGO+, enabling easy data entry and ticket creation.

Microsoft SharePoint: As the database, SharePoint stores and manages the inventory data securely, ensuring accessibility and accuracy.

Power BI: Power BI acts as the visualization tool, transforming raw data into meaningful insights. The integration with Power Apps enriches the user experience.

Challenges we ran into

Adapting to the constraint of private data, we utilized a dummy inventory dataset to showcase INVIGO+'s functionality. Time limitations posed another challenge due to the use of free accounts for Power Apps, Power BI, and SharePoint. Despite busy schedules, we persevered to develop the solution.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The creation of INVIGO+ represents a breakthrough in addressing inventory management challenges. While currently a mockup, INVIGO+ can be deployed across various departments requiring data tracking. Its user-friendly nature and the provision of comprehensive inventory overviews make it a versatile solution.

What we learned

This project provided invaluable lessons in utilizing Power Apps and integrating Power BI within the app. We gained insights into crafting intuitive interfaces and making data-driven decisions.

What's next for Unlocking the Potential of INVIGO+

To unlock the full potential of INVIGO+, the roadmap includes incorporating Power Automate for streamlined approval processes in parts ordering. Additionally, plans involve integrating a virtual agent through Power Virtual Agents, further enhancing user engagement and system functionality. The journey to optimize INVIGO+ continues as we expand its capabilities and impact.
