The University Clean Up Project promotes civil participation by allowing volunteers to clean sectioned-off parts of the Umn campus and neighboring areas, in order to create a cleaner campus for all.
Our Inspiration was driven by the polluted, and littered parts surrounding our campus. From our walks to school to hanging out at parks on the weekend, trash is always visible to be picked up.
Our Project is a hub for all those who want to aid in the cleaning up of our campus. From an "about" page to signing up, our website allows anyone who wants to be involved quickly take action.
We built this project from scratch using HTML, CSS, and javascript. We mainly focus on the aesthetic, because having an easy-to-maneuver website is essential for everyone who wants to join.
WE faced many challenges throughout this project, with very little knowledge of our chosen languages we were forced to pick them up on the fly and produce a coherent project.
I believe we are all proud of the work that we produced. All the information is relevant and it is simple and aesthetically pleasing.
We learned a lot about coding with deadlines and splitting up the work, in order to get it all done in time.
Our next steps would be to implement more functionality and display data and information in regard to who signed up and where and which areas need more people.
