💡 Inspiration

Real-time global collaboration is often hindered by language barriers and disconnected translation tools. We wanted to build an autonomous agentic translation layer that works seamlessly in the background to provide instant, contextual translation and multi-lingual coordination.

⚙️ What it does

Universal Translation Layer (UTL) acts as an intelligent intermediary agent that:

  • Seamlessly translates conversations and data streams in real-time.
  • Preserves context, technical terminology, and intent across languages.
  • Provides an intuitive interface for live monitoring and translation management.

🛠️ How we built it

  • Gemini API & Agentic Workflows: Powers the semantic understanding, contextual translation, and autonomous decision-making.
  • Frontend / Client: Built with modern web technologies and Flutter for responsive, cross-platform performance.
  • Deployment & Automation: Automated CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions and GitHub Pages.

🧗 Challenges we ran into

  • Ensuring ultra-low latency while maintaining high contextual accuracy in translations.
  • Designing an autonomous agent architecture that gracefully handles asynchronous multi-modal streams.

🏆 Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Successfully creating an end-to-end agentic workflow that translates and coordinates without manual intervention.
  • Clean, responsive dashboard visualizing live mesh communications.

📚 What we learned

  • Deep insights into structuring autonomous agent tool-calling and real-time streaming with Gemini.

🚀 What's next for Universal Translation Layer

  • Expanding multi-party voice translation.
  • Deeper integration with decentralized agent networks and protocols.
