Inspiration
After attending the introductory XRDC zoom meeting and learning about the design paths, I decided to go with Mobile to XR App since this is my first hackathon and it would be something simple to put together. I thought about what apps do I use on my phone that are missing from XR platforms, and the first thing that came to mind was a good music app.
What it does
The Universal Music Player is what it sounds like, a music player app that can be used with multiple streaming services. It's designed as if it was an official, preinstalled Meta app. It's unique feature is a game syncing feature called SoundLink, which allows players to play their music thru the XR game they are playing. This opens up a lot of possibilities, such as radios in racing games (think GTA's Self Radio), background music using the players playlist with songs selected by mood, or playing music through virtual speakers in a VR workplace (like seen in the video).
How I built it
I designed it in Figma using the Meta Horizon OS UI Set, and made the spatial testing demo in Unity.
