Inspiration

We decided to do this based on the fact that it can be hard to determine what classes to take.

What it does

Create a website that takes a user’s classes from the previous quarter as input and outputs the a schedule for Spring 2025. We planned to use a machine learning model to understand which classes the user would want to take based on their input.

How we built it

Made through a variety of techniques, we primarily gathered the data using various softwares such as Selenium and BeautifulSoup. The Actual program was made using python as the backend and HTML, CSS, and Javascript for the frontend.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into many challenges scraping data and formatting that data into a manner that could be to run our algorithms.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of the fact that we generally got each component working even though our project isn't cohesive.

What we learned

The main thing we learned from this project, beyond how to work under stress and as a team was how to properly manage time.

What's next for UniTree

The next possible step for UniTree is to be able to properly develop the idea out more in order to make a fully working app. With the goal of being able to help students it would be beneficial to make the program more user friendly and deliverable to a wider audience.
