Inspiration
We were inspired to create UniTree out of the lackluster options of intuitive UX on the RIT enrollment websites. We hope that students will greatly benefit from the existence of this amazing program!
What it does
UniTree makes it easy to find the courses you intend to take and lists the prerequisites for the courses in a digestible and easy-to-read manner that emulates a CS tree - hence, the name UniTree. Clicking on the courses will reveal more information about the specific course.
What we learned
We learned a great deal about parsing large data sets, front, and back-end development, as well as some programming strategies. Most of our team are new within the CS field and have had a blast designing UniTree.
What's next for UniTree
UniTreee is a versatile system that can be easily expanded upon - other universities can take advantage of the system by simply providing a parsable data set. We truly believe that this model of viewing data (in the form of university courses) would be the easiest and most efficient way to plan out one's college career
