Aim

How can we bend public policies to include nature’s right? Covid is showing us all that cange can be made, that economy can take a huge step back: So why not reinvent the model completely? And ask for more than the protection of nature or abolition of ecocide. Let's hack the system to recognize non human (plants, animals, earth...) as a rightful member of society. (I.e.acces to the economic world is already possible Since we can create virtual wallets and smart contracts for a care dog, a forest ...) let’s take this idea a bit further: We’ve known how to MAKE stuff together for many moons now (agriculture, textile, rare earth in TIC ....) but NOW: How do we work with each other ? How do we prioritize together ? How do we respect each other’s rights? What are those rights? ...

New business models: include non-humans as rightful partners

United remediation Technology

United remediation Technology is a team of artists, activists, robots and plants. Our goal is to establish a joint venture between forest soils, bacteria and mycellium to remediate polluted soils and drastically slow down then stop land artificialization. With 3.5 million sites in the European Union (EU) estimated to be potentially contaminated and an average of 100 mio€ turnover, we trust we can successfully penetrated the market with an powerfull poetic proposal for remediation, literally establishing forest ecosystems over defunct industrial sites. The poetic and life regenerating effect will show to be quite effective and soon cost effective.

Forest as a DAO

Forest as a DAO is a contributory poetic gesture (#cc by sa) that participates in a broader movement aimed at establishing a reciprocal relationship with what we call “natural resources” and an experiment linking blockchain technologies and the management of shared resources or commons.

In its current forms it is an online community linked with natural places and electronic sculptures. Anybody can add a natural place or a sculpture, give a donation and vote for their “gardener” responsible to take care of the resource. Presented at the international biennial of Design in Saint-Etienne, we have been working with designers on the links between the design of the digital decentralized network and the commitment of users.

FUNGOIDS - TINY SPECIALIZED ROBOTS TO IMPROVE ECOSYSTEMS

The intervention tests the idea of a cooperative in which trees and rivers are shareholders on an equal footing with men. In this universe, the ecosystem is an industry, photosynthesis has become a shared knowledge (a common one) that mainly provides depolluting fungi with energy. Humans derive their income from direct contributions they can make to the ecosystem or pay a tax on the landscape when they benefit more than they benefit from it...

Challenges I ran into

so far the legal aspect is the biggest set back. It doesn't seem possible to create a business for a non-human

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Presse : Makery Docu : Plantoid Workshop
