UNITE

Inspiration

This project was inspired by the unfathomable number of people that are now missing and have fled Ukraine. Families have been separated, and to me, that reunion and having a safe space with resources is of the utmost importance.

What it does

UNITE is an app that allows users to be found, or find their people. You input who you are searching for and can send out a message if you want to be found, the app matches you with the people who have searched for you as well. There is an Emergency SOS feature in built that will get you in touch with the closest responders. Additionally, there is a resource hub with podcasts and articles to remind you that you are not alone during this extremely difficult time.

How we built it

The app was built completely in Adobe XD!

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges I ran into while creating the app was finding a way to have a successful directory of individuals that have already been documented and reunited with their families.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud of the visual look and feel as well as how it is not just connecting people, but also a resource for people alone to try and take care of themselves. It is as much about connecting with yourself as it is about trying to reconnect with lost loved ones.

What we learned

I learnt that building an app for a cause is a whole different experience, we have an extremely big opportunity in the tech space to make a real difference and save lives.

What's next for UNITE

I would love to add more features to the app such as resource delivery services and a couple more ideas i would like to flesh out.
