Inspiration
It's often difficult to track just one delivery. Now imagine the daily shopper with multiple deliveries from multiple online stores, tracking all of them is a nightmare! We wanted to create a product to solve this problem.
What it does
Unite puts all of your delivery information in one place and helps the user to track their deliveries. It also tracks, and gives detailed analysis of, the users' spending.
How we built it
We built the website with a node.js back-end and used an SQL server to store and maintain the delivery information.
Challenges we ran into
Initially we wanted to build the app using Android Studio, but we found that using node.js allowed seamless integration between the website and the app. Also as most of us didn't have previous experience with the technologies we used, this slightly slowed us down as we had to research as we went, but this also meant we learnt a lot.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Finding a real-world problem and producing an effective solution to it.
What we've learned
We learnt a lot about the technologies involved, e.g. node.js, jQuery, SQL, as we went along.
What's next for Unite
Adding more features, such as a timeline display of the deliveries. We would also need to partner up with companies to bring the product to life. We could also build a native Android and Apple application for the product.
