Inspiration

As students, we personally wanted a better way of handling group projects. There were many times where we had difficulties in dividing up work in classes, and figuring out the best time where everyone was able to meet up and collaborate.

What it does

Unit is an iOS application that allows users to create and invite others to their teams, or Units. Within a Unit, tasks are created and posted to the main page. Individuals can voluntarily pick tasks that they want done and assign it to themselves. Users can also see available times to schedule meetings with their teammates.

How I built it

This is an iOS application that is built on Facebook's Parse as a backend.

Challenges I ran into

Understanding the scenario hierarchy was difficult, but very important.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Our team lacked a graphic designer, so making the application look good was tough.

What I learned

Frontend, backend. Swift as a development language. Using Parse API store and query data.

What's next for Unit

Full integration of the 'Meetings' feature, as well as a 'Conference Mode' that will guide users through the process of dividing tasks quickly and easily.
