Inspiration

Our team members have always had this issue - a meme is going viral, but we don't understand it, because it's in another language!!!! We wanted to solve this issue once and for all.

What it does

Identifies the text on a meme, and displays the translated text below.

How we built it

Python tkinter and pytesseract.

Challenges we ran into

We wanted an online interface, but had difficulty integrating javascript and python, so we went with a local python GUI.

The OCR (optical character recognition) actually works! (sometimes)
