Inspiration

I chose this track because the problem felt personal. I have been in situations where I needed a specific car part and struggled to find the right one. Even mechanics can sometimes have trouble identifying or sourcing the correct part, so for someone new to cars, the process can feel even more confusing.

That pushed me to build: a tool that uses AI image understanding and AI-assisted search to make finding and listing used car parts simpler. The goal was not just to add AI for the sake of it, but to make the process genuinely easier for individual buyers, sellers, and parts companies.

What it does

I focused on making the experience as frictionless as possible: upload an image, let the system help identify the part, generate useful listing details, and improve search so people can find what they actually need faster. The project is still an MVP, but the aim is clear: make used car parts easier to understand, easier to list, and easier to find.

How we built it

Using a simple techstack of what we knew, HTML/CSS/JS and sqlite with Node. And some OpenAI-Model usage (5.1mini !)

Challenges we ran into

Training the AI, token usage, lack of existing API's to get data from.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Building a frontend in a short amount of time and linking it with our AI idea.

What we learned

Planning is key!
