Inspiration
In a time of civil unrest in America, people have chosen to come together. During this time, especially, people have fought for a new standpoint on true equality. The protest for black lives matter has been brought to the attention of many. People have been fighting against police brutality. The reason for that is because of the unfairness and racist actions of the police force. However, how do we make a movement, how do we become powerful, how do we make our voices heard?
To achieve justice, there needs to be oneness. Together we stand, divided we fall. Peace and true equality can only be achieved if people come together. That is how America can make a movement, that is how Americans can become powerful, and that is how we make our voices heard!!
What I Did
I wanted to create these two flags as a representation of the current situation in the world. But not just that, any movement or step forward for America, requires ones, togetherness, and unity. These two flags portray this idea of collectiveness achieving the greater good.
In the first flag, police brutality is addressed. This idea of the people not being Anti-Police, rather the people stand for Anti-Police Brutality. These are two different causes, and what is conveyed through this message is that there are great injustice and unfairness in the current police forces throughout America. I created protested as the center of attraction for the flag. I also created a red background because it brings this idea of anger and violence; symbolizing the American people fighting for justice.
In the second flag, unity to achieve true quality is represented. This idea of unity being the strength and bringing power to the people, while division does bring despair and weakness to our country. It does not matter if it is race, gender, or inequality that the people are fighting for; America can only take a step forward through collaboration and ones. I created a sort of triangle figure of people standing to represent this idea of oneness. I used a purple color palette for this flag as purple is a combination of red and blue. Red symbolizes fierce energy; blue symbolizes calm stability. Both of these colors make purple, thus portraying this idea of fighting for true equality to achieve a peaceful America.
Preferred Outcome
My preferred outcome as a result of this submission is that I, myself, and others can become more educated on the idea of unity. Though it may not be talked about a lot, we have to understand, as a country, that unity can only be achieved through oneness. We should all serve our country how much ever we can, in order to bring true equality to our nation.
