Inspiration
HornsLink and similar apps provide a location for only certain types of community events. We wanted to make an app that brought many different types of events together in a central "bulletin board" with an indication of turnout provided to the user.
What it does
Allows the UT community to upload events for other UT community members to potentially attend.
How we built it
HTML/CSS/JavaScript and designed the website using Photoshop and Figma.
Challenges we ran into
We struggled with coming up with an idea. After finding an idea, we also struggled on figuring out the technologies to use for website design and interactivity. We hyper-focused on the interactivity aspects without planning out the technologies to use.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of our idea because of the niche that it fills on college campuses. We are also proud of our frontend design because of the accessibility and readability of the site.
What we learned
We learned about making sites in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. As well as frontend design concepts.
What's next for UNIEvents
We would like to make a fully functional backend to store the information of each event and interactivity within the application.
