The digital transformation led by the pandemic can widen up the skill gap. How can we prevent this with the help of existing platforms and resources?
Problem Details
From the past many years, survey reports have been alerting us about the skill gap. Skill-gap is a divide between job-seekers’ skills and qualifications demanded by employees. And now the current crisis of pandemic is leading us to a faster rate of digital transformation which can potentially widen up this gap post COVID. The solution to this problem is upskilling/upgrading yourself and many leading companies, digital learning platforms like Coursera, Salesforce, Microsoft, etc. are trying to address the solution.
Based on our personal stories of efforts to upskill ourselves and the user surveys done by us, we recognized many problems that hinder the growth of individuals while having all the required resources like lack of credibility of resources, lack of motivation, no check-in, feedback, etc. Hence, we are here to address these problems and help individuals to use the resources in a better way and upskill themselves.
We are trying to help individuals to get employed in their dream positions, and be the better version of themselves. And, this will impact everyone globally by more filled positions and thus, bridging the skill gap post-pandemic.
Our Solution
We are a one-stop solution that connects the dots of available resources through assisted learning and applying methods that are backed up by strong community-driven values.
We are deep learning platform that provides a four-step solution: 1.Providing credibility by detecting the best-reviewed resources from existing platforms 2.Tracking the learning journey of individuals and challenging them to test their learned skill 3.Matching them with competitions/events based on their geographical area to test their skill. 4.Rewarding them on their success
By providing the best resources for learning a skill we solve the credibility issues, and by tracking them and challenging them we follow a learn and apply method. By matching them with competitions/events we help them feel part of the community and get applied and experiential learning. We are helping them become a Uniqone :)
Our journey this weekend
We as a team faced many challenges this weekend starting from changing our problem statement completely due to the loss of an expert team member in that problem. Then, we were having a lot of troubles in syncing the time with our amazing mentors due to the difference in timezone as we were 6 hours behind the time zone. We wanted to address the problem of unemployment which made us go through the drill of a lot of potential problems, solutions to address them. We as a team, we kept getting to the root problem and finally recognized one of the root problems of unemployment and started addressing the skill-gap problem which led us to find roots of the problems with the help of our user validation and our personal stories.
As a team, we all really believe in the power of community and like that, we find a solution that resonated with us can potentially help many individuals like us to upskill themselves and stay motivated by being part of an active community.
We designed a solution for solving the problem, developed a prototype to showcase the solution, worked on our business model, and finally planned a roadmap for the growth of our project post this hackathon.
Our Solutions impact during and after the crisis
Our solution is addressing the problem during the crisis and at the same time helping individuals to prepare for problems post-pandemic. We recognized the potential reasons for why the current resources to help individuals upskilling themselves are working at their best and hence, we found a working solution that will address these problems by working on the aspects of motivation, confidence, credibility, and active community.
Our solution will give individuals the opportunity to applied learning and apply methods in their learning and hence, cut the competition of landing their dream job post-pandemic when the job market will expand at a very fast rate. Our solution is acting as a motivator for many individuals to learn and help them become less anxious for their future and at the same time our solution is helping global leaders to be able to fill their vacant solutions and improve the economy by bridging the skill gap.
Our user validation
95 percent of our survey users often don't complete the course they start on the digital learning platform 72.7 percent of our survey members said they love the idea.
