UniConnect - Your University Hub
In our first year at the University of Manchester, we embarked on a mission to ensure no new student ever feels left out or struggles to find the resources they need to settle into university life. Our team of five passionate web developers introduced UniConnect.
Inspiration:
Drawing inspiration from Disboard, a platform dedicated to connecting Discord server owners and users through searchable tags, we envisioned a similar space exclusively for our university community.
Objective:
UniConnect serves as a centralized hub where new students can effortlessly access invitation links to various group chats across platforms like WhatsApp, Telegram, Teams, and Discord. Whether it's for societies, academic subjects, or specific course batches, UniConnect ensures every fresher has a community waiting for them.
Security and Exclusivity:
Prioritizing the privacy and safety of our student community, access to UniConnect is restricted only to University of Manchester students and staff. This safeguard not only fosters a secure environment but also reinforces the sense of a closely-knit university community. Moreover, registered members have the liberty to list their own group links, further enriching the repository of resources available to newcomers.
Outcome:
As freshers embark on their academic journey, they are no longer lost in the vast sea of digital resources. With UniConnect, they have a guiding star, leading them straight to the communities and resources they need to thrive.
