Inspiration
At UniLift, our inspiration stems from a deep commitment to enhancing the university experience for students living in residency. We understand that the bonds formed during the academic journey are invaluable, and the time spent in residency provides a unique opportunity for shared experiences and camaraderie among students.
UniLift isn't just a transportation solution; it's a platform designed to foster a vibrant sense of community. We believe that the journey is as important as the destination, and by connecting students through shared rides, we aim to create meaningful connections that extend beyond the confines of a vehicle

How we built it
FrontEnd: Next.js, tailwind Backend: Java, Spring Boot Databse: MongoDB
Challenges we ran into
Sorting the events API JSON data posed a significant challenge for us, mainly because Spring Boot was a relatively new terrain that we were just getting acquainted with. The learning curve associated with our limited familiarity with Spring Boot made this task particularly demanding. Additionally, we encountered difficulties in setting up the MongoDB database, primarily due to our lack of familiarity with the technology.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud that we have a elegant frontend and that the functionality of the whole is working where the front end and backend are doing their jobs
What we learned
We learned about a number of new technologies, such as Spring Boot and Next.js. This encounter brought to light the early difficulties involved in picking up new technologies.
What's next for Uni Lift
In the future development of UniLift, we aspire to scale the platform by incorporating additional data points, including a broader range of universities. Furthermore, we envision enhancing user preferences by introducing more details such as the option to specify car size and additional user-specific information like interests. This expansion aims to tailor the experience even more closely to the preferences of our users.
