Inspiration
As professional procrastinators but also hardcore gamers, we wanted to tackle the idea of productive studying through a fun and rewarding game, adding a bit of spice to the otherwise mundane life of uni students
What it does
Uni Levelling is an idle game that rewards students for studying (using a Pomodoro timer) and completing quests around uni. With low maintenance and high dopamine, it's the perfect game for students that have busy days and are looking for some positive energy and rewards for all the hard work they put into their studies
How we built it
We used Godot game engine to build the entire game, and although we have plans to implement it as a mobile game, we haven't gotten to that stage yet
Challenges we ran into
One of our original teammates was unable to help with the creating of the project. That and the fact that only one of our members had used Godot before made it very challenging to start but very rewarding to finish
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of collaborating effectively in a time crunch to finish all aspects of the game and persevering even with little time until the deadline
What we learned
We all learn Godot script coding and pixel art design
What's next for Uni Levelling
We'll be launching our mobile implementation and also add many more features to maximise the user satisfaction on receiving rewards and acknowledgement of their hard work
