Inspiration:
This is project is meant to be a fast paced party game made up of a culmination of mini games depicting college life struggles in a fun way.
What it does:
It uses C# scripting and Unity game objects to create a fun game experience, but due to time and inexperience with Unity only one of the game concepts were produced.
How we built it:
We used Unity and C#
Challenges we ran into:
- Finding proper methods and functions to add a force to a sprite, eventually used manipulated values from
GetAxisRaw("Horizontal"). - Hinging the sprite to a solid surface
- Importing variables and components from scripts and GameObjects into another script.
- Finding and editing assets to use in the game.
Accomplishments that we're proud of:
- Being able to complete one of the game concepts in an unfamiliar environment (Unity) and in a short time interval.
- Quick and Instant brainstorming of project ideas that could be further carried and improved on outside the scope of this Hackathon.
- Being able to produce a project for our first Hackathon.
What we learned:
We learned to using Unity to illustrate and designs game rules and ideas, as well as, controlling it all with C# scripts.
What's next for Uni In a Nutshell:
Dozens of other mini games could be added to create a fully publishable game that is openly available for the public to derive hours of entertainment from. Also, multiplayer functionalities could always be incorporated.
