Inspiration
The inspiration came from a various of other games. We liked the idea of building some kind of survival game and this idea really leap out at us.
What it does
It is a web-based video game where you draw decision cards from a deck. You must decide if you will perform the action on the card or do nothing. Each decision will affect your 5 core stats in various ways. The goal of the game is to keep any of stats from dropping to 0 by balancing them with each other.
How we built it
We built it using html, css, and js.
Challenges we ran into
A large challenge we ran into was layouting the page as none of us had much experience with css so it was definitely a weak point for the team.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're actually really proud of how the game looks. Seeing as it was orginally, going into the challenge, something we struggled with. We all came together and taught eachother and we believe produced a beautiful looking game.
What we learned
We have all learnt a lot because it was our first hackathon. Both git, html, css and js. Especially css though.
What's next for Apocalypse Cards
We'd love to add more cards to the game as the deck is quite limited. Also adding the possibly of cards backfiring and the consequences of such is an idea we really wanted to explore but unfortunately didn't get around to.
