❄️ UnFreeze: Reconnecting Through Senses
💡 Inspiration
The inspiration for UnFreeze came from understanding the "Mental Freeze" response—that moment when anxiety or overwhelm makes it impossible to think or act. I wanted to create a digital "Sensory Sanctuary" that guides users back to the present moment using science-based grounding techniques.
🛠️ How I Built It
The project was engineered entirely in Figma. I focused on:
- Visual Hierarchy: Using calming color palettes and clean layouts to reduce cognitive load.
- Interactive Prototyping: Creating smooth transitions that mimic the 5-4-3-2-1 grounding method.
- UX Research: Ensuring the interface is accessible even when a user is in a state of high stress.
- AI Integration: Utilizing AI voice narration and video editing in CapCut to create a compelling demo that explains the emotional journey.
🚀 What I Learned
Through this challenge, I deepened my technical skills in Figma's Auto Layout and advanced prototyping. More importantly, I learned how to translate psychological grounding exercises into a functional, user-friendly digital interface.
🧠 Challenges Faced
The main challenge was balancing "interactivity" with "simplicity." In a state of panic, a user shouldn't struggle with complex buttons. I overcame this by designing "Large Sensory Anchors"—big, easy-to-tap elements that guide the user step-by-step.
