inspiration

ai can do many things exceptionally well - it calculates, automates, and optimizes with ease.
but when it comes to connecting people, understanding emotions, and navigating the grey areas of life, it often falls short.
i wanted to build something that lives in that space: where feelings are messy, instincts matter, and there isn’t always a simple yes or no. from gut feelings to chaotic art, my goal was to create a space where people can express, reflect, and connect in ways that feel soulful, raw, and deeply human.

what it does

unfiltered. is a chaotic-yet-beautiful community space where human creativity and instinct meet technology. this project is about prioritizing vibes over pure optimization - creating a space that makes you feel something, rather than simply function.

  • vibe wall: a real-time collaborative canvas for messy, raw human expression.
  • canvas: our personal creative playground.
  • gut check: a place for your honest, raw questions.
  • hive: see portraits and gut questions from others & react with heart.
  • echo: your week, distilled.
  • roll it: a random quote to challenge, uplift, or just make you smile.

how i built it

  • frontend: built with react and vite for fast, modular development.
  • realtime features: firebase for instant collaboration on the vibe wall.
  • design: focused on a playful, chaotic-but-clear UX to reflect human energy and emotion.
  • being a solo creator meant handling design, development, and testing myself, which was both challenging and rewarding.

challenges i ran into

  • building everything alone, balancing product vision, technical execution, and design at the same time.
  • ensuring the app felt emotional and human, not just another tool.
  • managing time efficiently while still pushing for creative features.

accomplishments that i'm proud of

  • creating a functional MVP as a solo creator in a short time.
  • making a product that feels personal, emotional, and unique rather than purely functional.
  • building a realtime graffiti wall that actually works.

what i learned

  • how to translate abstract ideas (vibes, instinct, emotion) into interactive features.
  • strengthened my full-stack skills, from real-time frontend design to backend integration.
  • learned how to keep a product chaotic yet cohesive, focusing on emotional storytelling, not just code.
  • discovered the power of solo building, wearing every hat.

what’s next for unfiltered.

  • improve echo with deeper AI insights while keeping a human-first approach.
  • add more collaborative creative tools, games, music, mood detection, and vibe-based AI suggestions without losing the soulful human feel.
  • turn unfiltered. into a safe, expressive space that beautifully blends technology and humanity.
