๐ฏ Inspiration
Ever stared at your to-do list and thought, "I wish I could just vaporize these tasks instead of checking them off"? That's exactly what sparked this project! We were tired of the same old boring productivity apps that make you feel like a robot. We wanted something that celebrates the chaos of real life - because let's face it, sometimes you need to destroy your way to success! The idea was simple: what if completing tasks felt as satisfying as winning a video game?
๐ What it does
Undone My Tasks is a rebellious take on productivity that turns your boring to-do list into an epic destruction simulator! Instead of mundane checkboxes, you get to vaporize tasks with satisfying animations - fade them away, shrink them into oblivion, or send them spinning into the void. Each destruction adds to your "Chaos Meter," tracking your progress from "Dormant" to "Apocalyptic" levels. It's like having a personal task-destruction arcade in your browser!
The app features:
- Epic Task Destruction: Choose from fade, shrink, rotate, or random destruction modes
- Chaos Meter: Watch your productivity chaos level rise as you wreck tasks
- Undo Power: Accidentally destroyed the wrong task? No worries, bring it back!
- Persistent Chaos: Your destruction count is saved, so you can continue your rampage across sessions
- Animated Awesomeness: Glowing backgrounds, gradient text, and smooth animations that make every interaction feel magical
How we built it
Here's the wild part - this entire app was built by me, a non-developer using just a single AI prompt! No coding experience, no weeks of development, just one conversation with AI that turned a crazy idea into a fully functional web app.
The tech stack includes:
- React with TypeScript for the core functionality
- Tailwind CSS for the stunning dark theme and animations
- LocalStorage for saving your chaos progress
- Lucide React for the beautiful icons
- Vite for lightning-fast development and building
The app was crafted with a focus on user experience, ensuring every click feels satisfying and every animation tells a story of task destruction!
๐ Challenges I ran into
Being a non-developer building a web app from scratch came with its fair share of "oh no" moments! The biggest challenge was understanding how to make the destruction animations feel satisfying and smooth. I wanted each task destruction to feel like a mini-celebration, not just a disappearing act. But it was all taken care of by my frient Bolty (bolt.new)
๐ Accomplishments that I am proud of
Absolutely thrilled that I managed to create a fully functional, visually stunning web app without any prior coding experience! The fact that this entire project came from a single AI prompt is mind-blowing.
๐ง What I learned
This project was a crash course in modern web development! I discovered that building a web app isn't as intimidating as it seems when you have the right tools and guidance. I learned about React hooks, state management, CSS animations, and the importance of user experience design.
๐ฎ What's next for Undone My Tasks - Chaotic To-Do App
The chaos is just getting started! We're dreaming up some wild features for the future:
- Multiplayer Chaos: Compete with friends to see who can destroy the most tasks
- Achievement System: Unlock badges for reaching different chaos levels
- Custom Destruction Effects: Let users create their own task-destruction animations
- Sound Effects: Add satisfying sound effects for each destruction
- Task Categories: Different destruction effects for different types of tasks
- Export Chaos Stats: Share your destruction achievements on social media
The goal is to keep expanding the app while maintaining its core philosophy: productivity should be fun, satisfying, and maybe just a little bit chaotic! ๐
