Inspiration I really love the ocean and the calm tranquil vibes that it gives. I-spy and mystery games have always piqued my interest as well as just being able to find peace in simple things as such.

What it does? It allow you to explore an immersive underwater experience that allows people to search for treasure amongst the beautiful scenery.

How we built it? I built this using various assets from the Meta Library, as well as assets of my own. The combination of both allowing me to provide an immersive experience that can become a playful game.

Challenges we ran into: It became very difficult to decide how many items should be able to find, as well as how to transform it from the primitive world it started as in May of 2024. My struggles lied heavily on creating this to be a game that can be easily played with multiple people.

Accomplishments that we're proud of, I am incredibly proud to have been able to update everything to be more in line with the future the metaverse is heading into, and trying to have everything feel more neat and organized. I have never been much of a scripter, and I really enjoyed doing my best to make it a lovely interactive game.

What I learned from this project; it taught me a lot about myself and scripting. I learned that creating an inviting, immersive world often means embracing simplicity, and that “less can be more.” Over the past year, this project has helped me develop a clear vision and build something truly meaningful.

What's next for Underwater Grotto (Scavenger Hunt): I am working on various game modes and a mini game. I have decided to work on a minigame for a seashell collection that works with various time trials. The new game modes will include timed scavenging that will require everything to be collected within various times that you can choose 2-10 minutes. I am also adding new items to find and a new point system that will give you cute avatar items to wear in world such as a seashell crown and pearl necklace that will make for cute and unique photo opportunities.
