Inspired by more challenges and through environment.

It helps to reduce the human intervention , in our project the prototype is made to detect the underground cables by using the basic ohm's law.

In this proposed method of Underground fault detector, Hardware part of this project are step down transformer, voltage regulator circuit, Raspberry pi pico, LCD display, WiFi module and for the demo purpose we are use resistors instead of cable.

Here these resistors which indicating each phase R-phase, Y-phase, B-phase. This consists of the basic principle of ohm’s law(V=IR). We also able to display the distance of the fault in the cable from the starting point of the cable.

There is no flexible and an effective method for detecting the faults and abnormal changes occurring in underground cables.

So here, Overcoming with one technical solution to detect the faults which are striking in Underground cables with the help of in-build ADC (Analog to Digital Converter) of the Raspberry pi Pico controller kit.

The faults such as open circuit, short circuit, earth faults are detected and learnt so on...

The hardware model of Underground Cable Fault Locator is implemented and favourable results were brought forward. This hardware model can locate the exact fault location in an underground cable. Further this project can be enhanced by using capacitor in an AC circuit to measure the impedance which can even locate the open circuited cable, unlike the short circuited fault only using resistors in DC circuit as followed in the above proposed project.
