Inspiration
Lo-fi music is very prevalent in today's youth culture
What it does
Allows users to quickly switch between two different peaceful scenes accompanied by lo-fi music, which helps alleviate stress
How we built it
We used Unity to create scenes and program the user interface, and Aseprite to create the art
Challenges we ran into
We had problems merging files on Github repository, and getting the buttons to work properly on the User Interface. Every single time we tried to push a file onto Github, there'd be a problem that ruined a large portion of the project. Getting the water to be reflective was especially hard, as we had to create a "mirror" version of a specific area right above the water. We had to develop these flow maps that could integrate water textures into this still image, and bring fluid physics into the equation. We also struggled with lighting and creating shadows.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to complete a project, despite having so many annoying issues come up.
What we learned
We learned how to implement buttons and interactive interfaces.
What's next for Under the Tree
Probably expand to other similar projects.
