We wanted to create a tool that took all the information from the NYC data mine and allowed New Yorkers to compare how their neighborhood compared with others.

This allows people to see their neighborhoods in new ways and explore their city.  It can also be used for policy makers to understand the challenges they face (e.g., comparing recycling rates with education levels suggests that access to recycling may not be enough).

Our tool makes the data accessible to New Yorkers in an intuitive, accessible way and helps them see their city from new perspectives.
