  Example Usage of Voyager App

What it does

Voyager is an app that allows users to plan for their trips by entering their destination, duration and budget. The app then automatically generates recommended activities, a packing list, and hotel recommendations for the user. In addition, the user can also chat to a trip advisor bot regarding any questions they have.

Inspiration

Our inspiration came from planning a trip and realizing all the intricacies of having to deal with accommodation, flights and planning for activities.

So, we wanted to create an app that made this much simpler, taking the pain out of planning for trips.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into challenges when figuring out which features of the app would best suit a user's intent. In the end, we decided on providing the user recommended activities, a packing list, and hotel recommendations as well as a chatbot for them to discuss with regarding the details of their trip.

What we learned

We learned how to use PartyRock on AWS, alongside the various features it has. We learnt how to create clear prompts to ensure the generative AI will be able to return useful responses, as well as experimenting with different models and evaluating their effectiveness.
