Inspiration as part of a course project

What it does visualizes different maps of different cities and provides directions

How I built it using c++ gitk for graphics and ui and using open library street maps sources

Challenges I ran into fast algorithms such as A* compared to dijkstas which is more accurate but slower so finding a good compromise

Accomplishments that I'm proud of implementation of a harder version of the traveling salesman problem

What I learned

How to collaborate with a team, how to research new better versions of algorithms. Using different types of databases with their advantages and disadvantages for different implementations

What's next for Umapper

Working on adding a feature to locate a persons bike to help prevent bike theft
