Ultimate Option Picker

For when you can't make a decision, the Ultimate Option Picker will tell a story about all possible options competing until only one remains. It's a quick, fun way to randomly make a choice.

Inspiration

Whenever I truly cannot make a choice, I rely on random number generators and wheels available online. However, aside from the resulting choice at the end of it, there is little flair or entertainment despite the mystery of randomness.

What it does

The project takes a comma separated list of possible options from the user and then generates a story about the options duking it out until there is only one left. It functions as entertainment as well as a randomness generator.

How we built it

I used PartyRock's incredibly simple App builder to pick the widgets. It only took a little bit of name changing to get the end result.

Challenges we ran into

The process was so simple that there were no challenges. Aside from the short wait for the AI to generate a story, everything functions perfectly.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm glad the end result is more entertaining than expected, with the AI pulling detailed bits of information for a complete story.

What we learned

This was a first time experience for me but it is fun to see how accessible app development and AI have become.

What's next for Ultimate Option Picker

Future iterations should include choices for themes and content so stories can be further personalized.
