Inspiration
As students, we understand the challenge of not knowing anyone in a class and struggling to find relevant groups for collaboration. Our inspiration behind this project is to address this issue and create a platform where students can connect with their classmates, collaborate effectively, and ultimately succeed in their classes through peer support and interaction.
What it does
The proposed solution aims to create a platform where students can connect with their classmates, create or join groups, and collaborate effectively. By providing a centralized system for students to find communication outlets and collaborate, this project aims to help students succeed in their classes by facilitating learning through peer support and interaction.
How we built it
We used next.js and css to create this app. We used a few npm packages for actions such as sending emails.
Challenges we ran into
Getting familiar with next.js on a more in-depth level was most challenging. Another challenging aspect was the front-end development.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of creating a platform that brings students together and facilitates their collaboration. Additionally, we are proud of our UI development and the seamless integration of the front-end and back-end.
What we learned
Through this project, we learned how to tie in front-end development with back-end development and create a cohesive user experience.
What's next for UIC Groups
Moving forward, we plan to add a chat feature that enables students to communicate with each other on the website. This feature will help students get to know each other better and create study groups for their courses. We also aim to improve the overall user experience and functionality of the application.
