Inspiration

UI UX Tech Club is a new club at NC State that came to life in January 2024.

The goal is • To promote the understanding of UI and UX by providing workshops, • to encourage creative endeavors in designing UI and UX by providing opportunities to experiment, • to provide a forum for learning about and discussing recent developments in UI and UX, and • to empower student endeavors in UI and UX.

Since the club just started there isn't much content and it's hard for students to follow what's going on outside of weekly emails and the online virtual forum we use, Discord.

The Get Involved page does not offer much formatting option as well and events must be submitted and approved to be seen which can take weeks.

So a quick and easy solution is to use a Google Sites website for the club!

What it does

It is quite simple- Google Sites is a drag and drop option to for building websites. It stays online and available and updates can happen in a flash!

How we built it

First I requested an official club email for the organization and once this was provided, I was easily able to access the Google Workspace which provided the Google Sites tool. Within 5 minutes I easily published the new UI UX Tech Club website!

Challenges we ran into

The challenge was mostly trying to decide what to make for the hackathon lol. I decided to do 2 things at once!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Happy that a website for the club is finally available; we have plans to finalize a WordPress website as an official club activity so stayed tuned!

What we learned

As long as a functional link is there, everything else can be edited in the future (a little bit at a time is better than nothing at all!)
