What job descriptions say, are not always the whole story of what HR managers look for
It's hard to tell how good a fit I am for jobs sometimes
What it does
Takes in your resume (pdf), description of the job you are applying for and the company name
Runs an Agentic pipeline to extract, analyze and give feedback on your resume
Returns that feedback and a score on a nice web app
How we built it
Used Solace's SAM framework and their documentation to link AI agents
Designed 4 custom agents
Made a light-weight backend with FastAPI
Made frontend using JS, HTML and CSS
Challenges we ran into
The SAM framework was pretty complex and did not have a ton of documentation but it had a lot of logs when running, so it was hard to find the root of bugs
We had a lot of technologies in our stack, and sometimes it was hard to get them to properly communicate
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We finished everything we wanted to achieve with our project
The outputs work well
It's a product that we actually see ourselves all using
What we learned
Lots about Agentic AI (specifically SAM)
Got lots of experience developing in full-stack environments
Learned how to time manage big projects and compromise when blockers occurred
What's next for uGottaJob
A web scrapping functionality could be really cool. Not only would we rank jobs, but we could also find jobs for you that we think would be a strong fit
More agents, more refined prompts, to make feedback more specific and even more useful
