Inspiration

As a freelance UGC creator based in the US, I grew frustrated with juggling disjointed tools – spreadsheets for earnings, random editors for content, and email threads for deliveries. I saw fellow creators in Europe and the US facing the same pain: brands wanted authentic content, but creators lacked a centralized way to manage their entire workflow. That spark led me to build a tool that would wrap every critical task into one seamless experience.

What it does

Creator Hub is a professional SaaS platform that empowers UGC creators to browse and bid on brand campaigns, create polished content with built-in tools (recording, AI subtitles, branded templates), manage delivery workflows, track earnings, and showcase work in a shareable portfolio – all from a single dashboard. Brands also gain a streamlined way to post campaign needs and review submissions.

How we built it

I started by mapping the end-to-end creator workflow, interviewing 15+ US/EU-based creators to identify pain points. Using Figma, I designed a minimalist, intuitive UI focused on core actions. I built the front end with React and Tailwind CSS, integrated Node.js for backend logic, and leveraged AWS for file storage. I added third-party APIs (OpenAI for subtitles, Chart.js for financial visuals) to extend functionality without rebuilding core tools from scratch.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest hurdle was balancing simplicity with functionality – creators needed robust tools but hated clunky interfaces. I iterated 8+ times on the Content Creation Toolkit, testing with beta users to trim unnecessary features while keeping critical ones (like multi-platform ratio previews). Integrating video format conversion also proved tricky; FFmpeg required fine-tuning to support the diverse file types creators and brands use across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We built a tool that truly centers creator needs – beta testers reported cutting their workflow time by 40%. The AI subtitle generator with multi-language support became a fan favorite, and the portfolio link feature has helped creators land 3x more brand partnerships in early tests. Most importantly, the platform feels intuitive, not overwhelming – a win for creators who value efficiency over complexity.

What we learned

I learned the power of user-centric design: every feature added was validated with real creators, not just my own assumptions. I also gained hands-on experience integrating third-party APIs at scale, and how to balance technical feasibility with user demand (e.g., scaling video processing to handle different regional file standards for EU/US users).

What's next for This project

Next, we’ll add direct integration with social media platforms to let creators publish content straight from the hub. We’re also building a brand portal with collaboration tools (comment threads, real-time feedback) and expanding the template library to include region-specific brand assets (EU compliance, localized styling). Long-term, we’ll roll out a mobile version to meet creators where they work – on the go.
