UF Club Info Hub

We used ai to interpret announcements made in club discords in order to create a website that could track and organize upcoming club events.

Inspiration

We noticed that it's sometimes difficult to keep track of all the events going on in various clubs around campus and how there was no place to easily view all club schedules.

What it does

Our project updates a website containing upcoming events in clubs by looking through the announcements made in club discords.

How we built it

We built the website using node and react. Our backend consisted of our discord bot that would make calls to openai and save information about upcoming events.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into some difficulties when we were connecting the different parts of the project we worked on as we had different dependencies and versions for our packages.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're happy that we managed to integrate the different functionalities of our APIs together in a fluid way.

What we learned

We learned a lot about front end web development, especially when it comes to utilizing react.

What's next for UF Club Info Hub

We will likely polish up our project after the competition as we had many more ideas that we wanted to implement.
