Inspiration

We were tired of expecting a specific food item and being disappointed to find out they were not actually serving it that day.

What it does

Allows the user to input what food items are actually available at J2/Kins for that day and allows other users to view what is available.

How we built it

We created a website using html and linked it to a Python backend that takes the users input and attaches a boolean of whether the food item is there in order to place it on the view available items page.

Challenges we ran into

  1. The majority of us are not very familiar with Python
  2. Some of us are very novice coders
  3. We could not get the Google Cloud API to implement an actual Google Maps feature on the homepage ## Accomplishments that we're proud of
  4. The fact that it works. ## What we learned
  5. Java is very hard to use for website building.
  6. The difference between a domain and actual website hosting ## What's next for UEAT
  7. Attaching allergens to each food item
  8. Allow user to put how busy a dining hall is
  9. Possibly a number counter of how many people say something is or is not available.
  10. Hosting an actual domain
