Inspiration

The student body has the opportunity to have more jobs on campus. Our project brought together the idea of giving the school, UCR, an idea to allow more students to work by starting an on-campus delivery service.

How it works

UCR2GO works by setting up a menu that would typically be seen at the physical restaurants on campus. The menus allow other students and faculty to purchase food and have it delivered to them for a small fee added to the total. We would integrate our service so that the school can see all of the incoming orders. The software only allows a transaction between you and the restaurant of your choice per order.

Challenges I ran into

Learning the process of creating an android app and bringing the UI to life by giving the user an experience that would make them interested in the service was the major challenges that we faced.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

The UI works extremely well and our motive for the app can be fulfilled if we were to pursue this further. We accomplished a functions app that would produce the results needed to send the data to the restaurant of the person's choice.

What I learned

We learned the basics of Android development and with hours of research we were able to give our project the extra effort by applying gson and json formatting to handle our batch transactions.

What's next for UCR2GO

If we were to pursue this further, our team would urge for UCR to implement UCR2GO into their dining system and provide another service to students that could help build them more popularity and increase their revenue from daily sales.
