Inspiration

I have been using the Pomodoro study technique for years now! Usually in the form of a website or app, but having one on my desk was an idea too good to pass up.

What it does

It is a box that sits on your desk, with a display and a few buttons. You can set a 25 minute study timer, or either a 5 or 10 minute break timer. It enables you to keep track where your time goes.

How I built it

I 3D modeled the box in Fusion360 and printed it in PLA with an Ender 5 3D printer. While the box was printing I wired up the rest of the project and programmed the raspberry pi zero over wifi using PuTTY.

Challenges I ran into

Without soldering I didn't have enough time to find an alternative to connect everything in the housing like I originally planned.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I did something I have been thinking about for way too long!

What I learned

Hackathons are a good time.

What's next for Pomodoro Study Timer

Putting the electronics into the case, with soldering this time.
