Uncommon Hacks Uchicago

We wanted to raise awareness about how much pollution is from the foods we eat. We created a website that allows users to type in the food and amount of it, and it would return the amount of CO2 of the user's input. The way it does this is that it accesses a database we created through mongodb, finds the name of the user's food in that database, and then converts it to amount of CO2 in that food. Our website is composed of javascript, html, python, and css. As some of us are first years, some challenges we faced were that we had to learn of the coding languages from scratch.
